The Hot Mop Shower is Done. How do you protect it?

So your hot mop pan is done. The tar from the hot mop has cooled down and contractors will be working in the area near the shower pan. What do you as a contractor or homeowner do if anything to protect the hot mop? I would love to hear what others do that has had success or maybe something that didn’t work so well in protecting your hot mop shower pan!
